Tegoroczne Kolonie Patchworkowe w Garbatce‑Letnisku były jak miękki, kolorowy quilt — zszyty z życzliwości, pracy, śmiechu, nowych znajomości i ogromnego zaangażowania. Choć pogoda kaprysiła i deszcz towarzyszył nam częściej niż słońce, atmosfera była tak ciepła, że nikt nie zwracał na to uwagi. Wspólne szycie, rozmowy przy maszynach, wystawy i kursy sprawiły, że te kilka dni stało się wyjątkowym czasem, który na długo zostanie w pamięci.

This year’s Patchwork Camp in Garbatka‑Letnisko was like a soft, colourful quilt — stitched together with kindness, hard work, laughter, new friendships and tremendous dedication. Even though the weather was capricious and rain accompanied us more often than sunshine, the atmosphere was so warm that no one paid attention to it. Sewing together, chatting by the machines, exhibitions and workshops made these few days a truly special time that will stay in our memories for a long time.

Die diesjährige Patchwork‑Kolonie in Garbatka‑Letnisko war wie ein weicher, farbenfroher Quilt — zusammengenäht aus Freundlichkeit, Arbeit, Lachen, neuen Bekanntschaften und großem Engagement. Obwohl das Wetter launisch war und uns der Regen öfter begleitete als die Sonne, war die Atmosphäre so warm, dass niemand darauf achtete. Gemeinsames Nähen, Gespräche an den Maschinen, Ausstellungen und Workshops machten diese Tage zu einer besonderen Zeit, die lange in Erinnerung bleiben wird.

💗 Jednym z najważniejszych elementów kolonii było szycie charytatywne. Powstawały prace dla dzieci przebywających na oddziałach szpitalnych — kolorowe, miękkie, pełne nadziei. Każda powstałe prace niosły ze sobą troskę i dobre słowo, które potrafią rozjaśnić nawet najtrudniejszy dzień.

💗 One of the most important parts of the camp was charity sewing. We created pieces for children staying in hospital wards — colourful, soft and full of hope. Each handmade item carried care and kind thoughts that can brighten even the hardest day.

💗 Einer der wichtigsten Teile der Kolonie war das karitative Nähen. Es entstanden Arbeiten für Kinder, die sich auf Krankenhausstationen befinden — bunt, weich und voller Hoffnung. Jedes genähte Stück trug Fürsorge und ein gutes Wort in sich, das selbst den schwierigsten Tag erhellen kann.

Szyłyśmy również dla kobiet po mastektomii — z myślą o ich komforcie, poczuciu wsparcia i kobiecej solidarności. To piękne, że patchwork potrafi być nie tylko sztuką, ale też gestem bliskości.

We also sewed for women after mastectomy — with their comfort, support and female solidarity in mind. It’s beautiful that patchwork can be not only art, but also a gesture of closeness.

Wir nähten auch für Frauen nach einer Mastektomie — mit Gedanken an ihren Komfort, ihr Gefühl der Unterstützung und die weibliche Solidarität. Es ist schön, dass Patchwork nicht nur Kunst sein kann, sondern auch eine Geste der Nähe.

Miałam przyjemność poprowadzić kurs OBW z zaprojektowanego przez siebie panelu i muszę powiedzieć jedno: moje kursantki były fantastyczne. Zdolne, skupione, pełne zapału — poradziły sobie z OBW bez większych problemów, a ja jestem z nich naprawdę bardzo dumna. Było dużo pracy, momentami intensywnie, ale efekt końcowy wynagrodził wszystko. Mam ogromną nadzieję, że dziewczyny są równie zadowolone jak ja — bo patrząc na ich postępy, uśmiechy i gotowe elementy, trudno byłoby pomyśleć inaczej.

I had the pleasure of teaching the OBW workshop based on a panel I designed myself, and I must say one thing: my students were fantastic. Talented, focused, full of enthusiasm — they handled OBW without major difficulties, and I am truly proud of them. There was a lot of work, at times quite intense, but the final result made everything worthwhile. I sincerely hope the girls are just as happy as I am — looking at their progress, smiles and finished elements, it’s hard to imagine otherwise.

Ich hatte das Vergnügen, den OBW‑Kurs zu leiten, basierend auf einem von mir entworfenen Panel, und ich muss eines sagen: meine Kursteilnehmerinnen waren fantastisch. Talentiert, konzentriert, voller Energie — sie haben OBW ohne größere Probleme gemeistert, und ich bin wirklich sehr stolz auf sie. Es war viel Arbeit, stellenweise intensiv, aber das Endergebnis hat alles belohnt. Ich hoffe sehr, dass die Mädchen genauso zufrieden sind wie ich — denn wenn man ihre Fortschritte, ihre Lächeln und die fertigen Elemente sieht, kann man kaum etwas anderes denken.

Podczas kolonii mogłyśmy również podziwiać dwie wystawy przygotowane w ramach zabawy walizkowej Stowarzyszenia Polskiego Patchworku: „Domki” — pełne uroku, różnorodnych interpretacji i kreatywnych rozwiązań, “Dary Jesieni” — ciepłe, kolorowe, nastrojowe, jak jesień zamknięta w tkaninie. To była piękna okazja, by zobaczyć, jak różnorodnie można opowiadać historie za pomocą igły i nici.

During the camp we could also admire two exhibitions prepared as part of the Polish Patchwork Association’s suitcase challenge: “Houses” — charming, full of diverse interpretations and creative solutions, “Gifts of Autumn” — warm, colourful and atmospheric, like autumn captured in fabric. It was a wonderful opportunity to see how differently stories can be told with needle and thread.

Während der Kolonie konnten wir auch zwei Ausstellungen bewundern, die im Rahmen der Koffer‑Challenge des Polnischen Patchwork‑Verbands entstanden: „Häuser“ — voller Charme, vielfältiger Interpretationen und kreativer Lösungen, „Gaben des Herbstes“ — warm, farbenfroh und stimmungsvoll, wie der Herbst im Stoff eingefangen. Es war eine wunderbare Gelegenheit zu sehen, wie unterschiedlich man Geschichten mit Nadel und Faden erzählen kann.

Garbatka‑Letnisko to nie tylko szycie. To również rozmowy, śmiech, wspólne posiłki, wymiana doświadczeń i poznawanie nowych osób. Ja sama wróciłam z kolonii z kilkoma nowymi koleżankami — inspirującymi, ciepłymi, pełnymi pasji. To właśnie takie spotkania budują naszą patchworkową rodzinę. Kolonie były po prostu cudne — pełne energii, kreatywności i dobrych emocji. Garbatka‑Letnisko ma w sobie coś wyjątkowego. I wiem jedno: pojadę tam ponownie w przyszłym roku. Bo takie miejsca i takie chwile warto powtarzać.

Garbatka‑Letnisko is not only about sewing. It’s also conversations, laughter, shared meals, exchanging experiences and meeting new people. I myself returned from the camp with several new friends — inspiring, warm, passionate women. These are the encounters that build our patchwork family.The camp was simply wonderful — full of energy, creativity and good emotions. Garbatka‑Letnisko has something truly special. And I know one thing: I will go back next year. Because places like this — and moments like these — are worth repeating.

Garbatka‑Letnisko bedeutet nicht nur Nähen. Es bedeutet auch Gespräche, Lachen, gemeinsame Mahlzeiten, Erfahrungsaustausch und das Kennenlernen neuer Menschen. Ich selbst bin mit mehreren neuen Freundinnen zurückgekehrt — inspirierend, warmherzig, voller Leidenschaft. Genau solche Begegnungen bauen unsere Patchwork‑Familie. Die Kolonie war einfach wundervoll — voller Energie, Kreativität und guter Gefühle. Garbatka‑Letnisko hat etwas ganz Besonderes. Und eines weiß ich sicher: Ich werde nächstes Jahr wiederkommen. Denn solche Orte — und solche Momente — sollte man wiederholen.
