Do you remember the patient that came to me for plastic surgery? I had to start repairing that quilt by performing open heart surgery on it first, so the plastic surgery had to be postponed. Thanks to the long recovery time, my patient’s health improved, and the plastic surgery could finally be scheduled.
The surgery was serious. It lasted five days and I think it worked.
It was hard.
Those who quilt know that the quilting can make a quilt more attractive or it might completely spoil it. If you ruin your own quilt you put it into a closed and never show it to anyone. But if it is not yours how to say to someone that you messed up?
Whenever I get to work, I do it with the soul on my shoulder (that means I am scared to death 😊). I know I still have a lot to learn. But practice makes perfect.
I wondered for a long time how to make everything work out well. I figured out that I can use the technique. I decided to design the quilting pattern on a computer.
So, I used Corel. I took a picture of the quilt and transferred it into the program.
Next, I drew patterns that I was going to quilt.
I put them on the picture of the quilt to see if everything would fit together all right.
For the bottom of the quilt I used some fabric that I had prepared earlier. You can find description of its execution here.
When everything was OK, I got to quilting.

I also used rulers.
After the work was done, it was still necessary to finished up and cut off the threads.
I hope that Sylwia will like it. I am so glad I got the opportunity to quilt it. I learned a lot, and this is priceless for me.
