Stitching slow stories...

A small dream that is finally coming true.

A small dream that is finally coming true.

Some dreams take time to ripen. They wait quietly for the right moment, a bit of courage, and a gentle push that finally sets everything in motion. That’s exactly how my journey with the Dear Jane quilt began.

For several years I dreamed of making it. I even bought the patterns in Electric Quilt 8, where all the Dear Jane blocks are beautifully drafted. I had everything… except the courage to start. Something always held me back — lack of time, or the fear that it might be too difficult.

And then one day I came across the Dear Jane Stitch Along group on Facebook. That was the moment. I thought: if not now, then when? I joined the group and decided to give it a try. To finally give myself a chance to make this small but meaningful dream come true.

Every Thursday a new block is published to sew. This rhythm suits me perfectly — motivating, but not overwhelming. I’ve already finished two blocks, and the third one is on my sewing table right now. I’m trying to finish it before next Thursday, before the new block appears.

I feel so happy that I finally began. I hope that with the support of this wonderful group I will manage to sew the entire beautiful, historic quilt. And even if it takes a long time — that’s okay. What matters most is that I took the first step.
