Soap washes everything ….

Soap washes everything ….

Handmade natural soap making is not only a practical skill but also a true art and pleasure. It is a process that allows full control over the ingredients, the selection of favorite oils, butters, and additives, and the creation of a cosmetic perfectly suited to individual skin needs.

The foundation of homemade soap is the saponification reaction—combining vegetable fats (e.g., olive oil, coconut oil) with a sodium hydroxide solution. In addition to base ingredients, you can add clays, herbs, essential oils, or honey to give the soap unique appearance and skincare properties.

Handmade soap-making is also a great opportunity to experiment with techniques, such as the cold process, which preserves the beneficial properties of oils, or the hot process, which shortens the waiting time for the final product. The process requires patience, but the satisfaction of using a personally crafted cosmetic is priceless.

I had the opportunity to participate in natural soap-making workshops at the Folk University, and it was an incredibly inspiring experience for me. I enjoyed it very much and it confirmed how fascinating this field can be.
