Do you guys remember when I applied to the 3rd edition of the exhibition Locked in a Suitcase, the main theme being “Houses”? It was not only I that entered, by my daughter tried her hand at sewing a house as well. And you know what? She did it better than me. I am not kidding, see for yourself.
Of course, it was not an easy job. Ula had to face many challenges on her own, like fabric selection, copying patterns, cutting and gluing elements, and taking care of my cat, who was constantly trying to eat the interlining. But Ula did not give up and finished her project with determination.
To create this picture, Ula used a double-sided adhesive fleece called “LitleSteam-A-Seam2”, which is really cool because it is sticky so you can put it on, but you can also peel it off easily. It was very useful because Ula changed her mind often about colors and shapes. And I didn’t have to worry about that she might be burning her fingers or the fabric.
Ula is very proud of her house and so am I. We now have a nice art image to hang on the wall. Below you can see how busy my daughter was working on this little art project and her little helper Kitek.
The last touch is the quilting process, which I will show you in a while because we are going on vacation.
