Here it is, mini mandala again. I made this “baby” a while ago and named it “Mandara”.
You might be wondering where the name “Mandara” came from. Well, this is the result of me playing with google translate. When I have no clue what name to give to my work, I type in the word “mandala” and randomly choose the target language. This time it was Korean, and that’s how “Mandara” was born. It may not be very original, but sometimes cool names come out like that.
The advantage of making mini mandalas is that you can play with colors and see how they will work together. I don’t have any plans or template I just do what comes to my mind.
I already have a mandala with pink and purple, blue and gray, yellow and orange. This time I wanted to have different shades of the same color. I chose green.
The diameter is 61 cm, it is quilted on a black background with colored embroidery threads by Isacord and Mozart. In addition, I added one reflective thread. It looks nice in the dark. I used only 7 colors and stuck the needle into the fabric 456,424 times.
Small is beautiful.
