Art Quilts Exhibition in Przemysl

It is with great pleasure that I invite you all to the exhibition by Sylwia Haluch and Sylwia Ignatowska, being held in Kazimierzowski Castele in Przemysl.

Isn’t that wonderful. Recently, there were beautiful ruins of the 18th century Discalced Carmelite Monastery on the Mariemont Hill in Zagórze. And now the Beautiful Kazimierzowski Castle in the city I was born in and lived for 25 years.

The first castle in Przemyśl was erected on a hill after 1340, during the reign of Casimir the Great, on the site of a wooden and earth stronghold, where already at the beginning of the 11th century, King Bolesław the Brave built a brick Romanesque rotunda and palas (palace). The castle of Casimir the Great was built in the Gothic style. Only the ogival entrance gate has survived to this day. The castle was damaged during the Wallachian invasion in 1498. It was rebuilt in the years 1514–1553 by Piotr Kmita Sobieński.

In the years 1616–1633 starost Marcin Krasicki ordered the reconstruction of the castle, raising the northern and eastern towers. Thanks to this, today, when entering the towers, we can admire the beautiful panorama of Przemyśl. I invite all to visit.
