Picture Exchange 2021

Picture Exchange 2021

“Picture Exchange” was a project prepared by the European Quilt Association for all members of European patchwork groups and their associates. It consisted in sewing an interpretative quilt of the right side of a photo that each person individually prepared, while the left side was taken from a photo by a randomly selected partner. The project started on January 25 th and ended on September 20 th , 2021.

My partners were Monica from Sweden and Cristina from Spain.

In my projects I used the rough edge application method. Of course, all fabrics were hand dyed by me, with the exception of black and white. Additionally, I used colorful beads to finish the pieces.

The quilts were not big, only 30x40cm. I think the hardest part was to assume how much the quilt would shrink after quilting and how much extra it should be added to get the right size. I have my pictures a little bit scaled up. I will not describe how I did this since by reading my blog you must have come across such a description already when I was creating one of my previous projects. But I will insert some photos.

In my opinion, this was the best possible way to connect these photos together.

Right below, I put some links to all of the projects that took part in the game. I hope the links work.
