A week has passed since my studio can be used again. I wanted to show you what I am currently working on, but there isn’t much progress.
I have finally finished quilting my friend Sylwia’s art quilt. “Bear” has been waiting patiently, and so has Sylwia. It’s good that he is finished, he will now be able to join her colorful family.
Additionally, I started working on a new project, which will be the second screen, an extension of the previous one. Both will be placed in my bedroom as decorations.
The project is very similar to the previous one, (by the same designer).
For a long time, I contemplated if I should keep continuing the same design, but I changed my mind. I decided that since these will be two separate screens, they should look different. Of course, as you can see, they have many common features, and they will be in similar colors.
I started drawing and cutting out (the printed pattern) on double-sided adhesive interlining. I had to make two, one for the front and one for the back of the screen, just like before. I had planned for the work to go quickly and smoothly. It did not go according to that plan at all. The whole process took much longer than I wanted it to. As a result of the pace, it means that all I can show you is some cut pieces of fusible web. But the process was nice (almost).
I divided the cut elements into four parts (so as not to go nuts while working). Every panel went to a different box.
Now I need to check up on the fabrics in my closet and dye whatever pieces I am missing. It’s actually kind of good that there will be a break from cutting for a few days, because the hand I use to hold my scissors has had enough for now. Time for a little relaxation. I will take an example from my rabbits.
Have a nice day.
