Hello, it is me again, Sylwia 2. Today I will tell you about the confetti method. A few years ago I met Anna Slawinska who is the master of this method and who willingly shares her experience with others. Looking at her projects I thought to myself “I can do that too”. I did not know how wrong I was, and proof of that were a few very unsuccessful projects. At quick glance this method seemed to be so easy. So, I thought this is not my cup of tea and I gave up.
One day I picked up the album “The beauty of Earth” and found a photo in it. I thought maybe I can try confetti again, hoping that this time I will be more successful than before. An especially important part is in this technique is to have a photo that is our “model”. I do not recommend relaying on our imagination, unless the Great Creator was exceedingly kind and gave you a very vivid imagination.
The advantage of this technique is the general availability of materials, i.e. we can cut old blouses, shirts, ribbons, braids, and other waste, giving them a second life. We use all types of materials as long as the color matches our composition. So, zero waste!
I arranged a sandwich that means first the back, then the batting and the top that I will build my composition onto.
In my parts collection I found FQ in color that perfectly portraited the night sky. The tree trunks and branches were glued using double sided fusible web, making my work easier. Then it was time to work with the leaves, some I glued some I did not because I run out of double-sided fusible web 😊. The moon is glued. I covered everything with black tulle, secured with many pins and quilted.

- The moon is made from a lining from an old handbag
- Black tulle I bought somewhere, some day a long time ago
