Speed”- Continued

Recently I wrote about how I created my cheetah. Now it is time to continue the story.

 I found human pictograms on the internet. I wanted them to represent all stages of human development, from infant to death.

They were to be an important part of the quilt. Sewing them was quite easy. I used double sided adhesive fusible web and careful application. All the characters were stitched with a dense zig-zag stitch.

Half of the trim was orange blue and the other half was green. I wanted the center of the trim, after stitching all three parts together, to not draw too much attention to itself.

I can not say that this part was highly creative, but that was my intention. The last part was supposed to be the same size as the cheetah. This was also designed and drawn in Corel.

Surely some of you already seen this part without even realizing that it was a part of this quilt.  

I started with a snail shell. For this purpose, I used Northcott Stonehenge fabrics. I love these materials.

The shell came out amazing. When I created it, I arranged the fabrics so that they would turn in accordance with the spiral of the shell.

After the shell, it was time for the snail. His body was not that attractive. I was hoping that quilting would change that. 

Then I started to make a reflection in the water. For this purpose, I used in addition to the fabrics dyed by me, batiks. Batiks which I bought many years ago and which I felt sorry for using.

Then I combined everything together and put on long-arm for quilting.

I wanted the snail to look more realistic, so I used nail polish to make a mucus.

It came out cool.

Then I connected everything together.

If you look at the whole thing, you will see the fastest animal in the world on one side, the cheetah, as it rushes through the streets of the city. On the other side is a snail contemplating its reflection. In the middle, the path of our life set in a specific way. From birth to the grave. This is my vision of the theme
