This time I wanted to make nice” backs” of a lovely quilt. I wanted to make it look special.
I gave it a try earlier. I liked the effect very much. I supposed that the owner of that quilt will like it too.
For this experiment I needed some cotton fabric in a light shade, a table, a fork, and color spray. I bought mine in Castprama.
For the table I used a board of OSB which I would not recommend because the surface was too rough and made it difficult to arrange the fabric.
I marked the center of the fabric and laid it out on the table. Next with the help of the fork, which was placed in the middle, I started to twist the fabric into a spiral.
After twisting, I pulled the center of the fabric up forming a cone. When it was ready, I took the red color and sprayed the fabric with it.
When it was dry, I rolled up the fabric and twisted it with the fork in the same direction again. I try to arrange the fabric so that previously colored folds were visible as little as possible. I spray it again with different color.
When it was dry, I laid the fabric back on the table and started to twist it again, this time in the opposite direction.
This time the fork was no longer needed because I did not want to twist the fabric too hard.
The last color I used was black.
After it finished drying the fabric got washed. I was eager to see if the spray colors were going to stay on the fabric.
The effect came up nice. Now it is time for the long arm and quilting.

I still have to try some other fabric arrangements. If I conjure something up, I will definitely show you.
