I am the one.
Of course, that particular photo tells me “I am the one, I am perfect, sew me”
Isn’t that weird?
That is why that many of my projects are based on photos I found or bought online.
That is how my “Destiny” quilt came about. The project was sketched in Corel, printed on tracing paper. Why tracing paper?
The background for my design was supposed to be a black fabric. I could not place the pattern underneath the black fabric because it would not be visible. So, I put the pattern on the top of the fabric. Thanks to the tracing paper I knew exactly where to arrange individual fragments of the image.
Each fragment was copied on the two-sided fusible web, cut out and glued on previously hand dyed fabric. Next, I cut out and arranged in the right position underneath the pattern and press it well.
On the end I glued the leaves.
The image contains four layers. The top, two layers of batting and the back. The quilt was quilted on a small table Bernina.
The image got the black frame which was quilted in repeated design.
Thanks’ to the black frame it got some intensity.
