So many years have passed since I picked up a needle and thread. And I thought I would never come back to this but here I am. I am surprised myself.
I must confess, the design was taken from the internet in ancient times, and now used. This is a little escape from making patchworks.
The white canvas is divided into 10 by 10 cross square and stretched out on a special frame for embroidery.
When I am working on a frame it is hard for me to change the material every time, so that is why I select the colors one by one and embroider with crosses and half crosses as much as I can. When I reach the end of the frame, I take off the needle from the embroidery thread and I start the next color. The previous thread hangs loosely and waits for me to use it take again.
Thanks to this method I can watch the effect of my work immediately.
The only negative side of working on embroidery frame is that it cannot be taken to bed to work while watching some movie. The tambour is better in this respect.
I like to watch the embroidered design comes to life as a picture.
Isn’t this guy beautiful? I love Vikings. The only thing missing now is the wood frame and it goes on thewall.
