I have finally been able to make progress on my new challenge project, which I wrote about here.
I don’t have a name for this quilt yet, but I’m sure I’ll think of something.
All the pieces have already been prepared and are just waiting to be sewn. But to do that, first I had to quilt the bottom of my quilt.
For this purpose, I used a fabric that I had previously hand dyed. I made myself two shades. I was still unsure whether I wanted a lighter or darker color as the background of my project.
When the fabric had finally been selected, I started quiting.
Unfortunately, during quilting I ran out of thread, on Friday night. I had to wait whole weekend for the package to be delivered to my door.
When I start to quilt, I become so absorbed in the work that I do not like to stop. Waiting on the thread, I paced back and forth not knowing what to do with myself. I miss it the work. Is there something wrong with me?
My thread was delivered. The work resumed and my background was quilted.
Now, I just have to sew all the pieces by hand and the quilt will be ready.
The first element is ready, it took an awfully long time. I am curious if I will be able to finish it by next Monday. Keep your fingers crossed.
