Stitching slow stories...

Multi Unicorn- follow up.

Multi Unicorn- follow up.

I finally succeeded. I connected all the hexagons into one beautiful circuit. Well, maybe not all of them. I had 265 of them, and I used only 142. The leftover 123 hexagons were saved for later. You’re probably wondering why I made them? Unfortunately, there is no other way. You can’t just make as many hexagons as needed for an OBW with a panel in the middle. It’s always a surprise.

My bunny Łatka joined me in choosing the hexagons. She liked one of them very much and showed it by licking it.

Arranging the hexagons was a pleasure, but also a big challenge.

I must admit that sometimes I had a dilemma which hexagon would be better suited to the whole piece. The day I put them together, I walked so much back and forth that my feet hurt.

When everything was arranged, it was time to sew the hexagons together. I tried to do it quickly and carefully, but it still took me two days.

I noticed that sewing the hexagons relaxes me a lot. Maybe that’s why I like this technique so much.

When everything was sewn together, I put the hexagons on the panel, pinned them and sewed them with a blind stitch. I must admit I had a bit of trouble with this stitch. My eyesight must have gotten worse because I couldn’t see well even with glasses. I guess it’s time to see an eye doctor.

OBW almost ready.

Now all that’s left is the quilting, but I’ll write about that soon. I don’t know if I’ll make it by next Monday because I’ve signed up for school.

Yes, yes you heard me. I am going to school, but more specifically, the Folk University of Arts and Crafts, which is located in a beautiful area at the foot of the Low Beskids in Wola Sękowa.

Have a nice day.
