It was written that the powder had to be dissolve in
a hot water, then the fabric needed to get dip into that mixture and to be
covered completely. After few hours get the fabric out, wash it and dry it. Easy 😊

On those YT tutorials only.

Extremely excited I run to get some plastic
containers. Next, I got my fabrics, thinking not to go to much, basic colors
only. Then, I did everything what instruction said (as above). Waiting for the
beautiful results was hard.

I even had time to take a picture.

The colors came up great. So, everything went like on YT. Now they had to get washed and it is time to start playing.

I threw the dyed fabrics into the washing machine and turned it on. Just imagine me when I took it out from the washing machine after washing. Many years passed by since then and I am still feeling that frustration. Expecting beautiful colors and getting everything in color of mud.

And there was a big surprise, how calm? I did everything according to what they said. Not exactly. Those dyes I used were not suitable to this kind coloring as it was shown on tutorial I was viewing. Not knowing English got revenge. I do not have any pictures to show you because I was so upset and dropped it into garbage can immediately.

But the problem still bothered me, I
needed fabric for my background. What was I supposed to do?

I repeated that process again, but on
one fabric only. I did not wash it I to afraid that the color would get washed
out. I just rinsed it under running
water.

It worked; I got the background that I needed.

I had my first adventure with dyeing
fabric behind. First but not the last one.

It took a long time to find out what
kind of dyes to use to get the desired and color, and not to be afraid to wash
it with other fabrics.

Year 2009 .
