{"id":17004,"date":"2019-10-23T13:21:17","date_gmt":"2019-10-23T11:21:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sylaquiltartist.pl\/v1\/2019\/10\/23\/rebeccas-fields\/"},"modified":"2019-10-23T13:21:17","modified_gmt":"2019-10-23T11:21:17","slug":"rebeccas-fields","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sylaquiltartist.pl\/v1\/en\/2019\/10\/23\/rebeccas-fields\/","title":{"rendered":"Rebecca\u2019s Fields"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On November 14<sup>th<\/sup>, 2018, the administrator of the Polish Patchwork Association, Ms. Marta Niemczyk asked a big question \u201cWho sees a quilt in it? \u201c, showing us Rebecca\u2019s Vincent \u201cThe Earth Lines \u201cgraphics.&nbsp; So, a big discussion just began.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It turned out that this is an image, but an unique image where fabrics were used to get a harsh surface which makes a quilt alike image.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So, then Ewa Pasinska, the head of PM asked a fundamental question \u201cMaybe we can sew it?\u201d. And then we can compare different interpretations of the same image. That was a challenge \u2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We asked Rebecca for permission to use her work and when she gave us her blessing I started to work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">First the plan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I drew the design on the tablet a printed it out on a plotter printer. I love this \u201ctoy\u201d, finally I do not have to join letter size paper sheets into one big piece. I noticed that when printing and joining small sheets together I got imperfections in my designs, that cost me extra time to fix it. But that is already behind me.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/sylaquiltartist.pl\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/rebeka1.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/sylaquiltartist.pl\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/rebeka1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-657\" style=\"object-fit:contain;width:488px;height:501px\"\/><\/a><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Projekt<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After printing, I divided the project on two sections. First section was to make the fields. And we could use fabric only (no painting) so it was not simple.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I forgot to add that I always print two copies, one is regular and the other as a mirror refection.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/sylaquiltartist.pl\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/rebeka5.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/sylaquiltartist.pl\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/rebeka5.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-662\" style=\"object-fit:contain;width:600px;height:398px\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That helps me when drawing and laying fragments that were already cut out. As I use two sided fusible web, so I copy the design on the web ( without getting tired), and I glue them on the fabric, then I cut them &nbsp;out, and apply them into original pattern and press them with a hot iron.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/sylaquiltartist.pl\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/rebeka6.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/sylaquiltartist.pl\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/rebeka6.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-663\" style=\"object-fit:contain;width:600px;height:398px\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On the photo below, on the left you can see the mirror image of the design, and on the right slowly arranged image on the original project.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/sylaquiltartist.pl\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/rebeka7.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/sylaquiltartist.pl\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/rebeka7.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-664\" style=\"object-fit:contain;width:600px;height:398px\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And that is how it looked like before I started working.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/sylaquiltartist.pl\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/rebeka3.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/sylaquiltartist.pl\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/rebeka3.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-660\" style=\"object-fit:contain;width:600px;height:398px\"\/><\/a><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Przed.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During that process when my husband removed my fabrics because they bothered him. Since that moment I was not able to find anything\u2026.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/sylaquiltartist.pl\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/rebeka2.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/sylaquiltartist.pl\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/rebeka2.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-659\" style=\"object-fit:contain;width:398px;height:600px\"\/><\/a><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Po.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Of course, I had helpers, but this time they stayed on a floor only.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/sylaquiltartist.pl\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/rebeka4.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/sylaquiltartist.pl\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/rebeka4.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-661\" style=\"object-fit:contain;width:600px;height:398px\"\/><\/a><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">&nbsp;Mr. Patch the helper<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Despite the difficulties, the work kept going.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/sylaquiltartist.pl\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/rebeka8.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/sylaquiltartist.pl\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/rebeka8.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-665\" style=\"object-fit:contain;width:398px;height:600px\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I must dispel rumors that I use a laser or a plotter cutter or some other devices to cut my images.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Every single element is hand cut by me using scissors or rotary cutter.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/sylaquiltartist.pl\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/rebeka9.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/sylaquiltartist.pl\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/rebeka9.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-667\" style=\"object-fit:contain;width:413px;height:398px\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is a time-consuming process but when I am cutting the elements, I am still making corrections to my project.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/sylaquiltartist.pl\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/rebeka10.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/sylaquiltartist.pl\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/rebeka10.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-668\" style=\"object-fit:contain;width:398px;height:600px\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When creating my projects, I always use this iron. I supposed that this is a \u201cmust have\u201d tool in my studio.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/sylaquiltartist.pl\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/rebeka11.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/sylaquiltartist.pl\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/rebeka11.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-669\" style=\"object-fit:contain;width:600px;height:398px\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The last pieces and my quilt is almost ready. As background fabric I selected an orange fabric. That shade is common in original image. I do not have to make any corrections anymore at this stage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The first part was successful.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/sylaquiltartist.pl\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/rebeka13.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/sylaquiltartist.pl\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/rebeka13.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-670\" style=\"object-fit:contain;width:600px;height:495px\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Now it is time to work on part number two. These are clouds and trees. As a background I used hand dyed fabric. And using a white worsted wool and blue worsted silk I created the clouds.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/sylaquiltartist.pl\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/rebeka14.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/sylaquiltartist.pl\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/rebeka14.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-671\" style=\"object-fit:contain;width:600px;height:398px\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is the first time I used these products. So far as a primer I used thin felt. Both products are doing work well, but you need to be careful not to make a hole.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After making the clouds, it was time for trees. The trees placed on the rear I used darker fabric to accomplish a depth.
