I love you with my soul!\u201d Wlodzimierz Wyslocki 1885 year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I found that lovely poem by Wlodzimierz Wysocki and I think that it depicts my feelings when I look at<\/em> <em>my new quilt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As you know I love the One Block Wonder method. This time I picked up a panel designed by Chong A-Hwang as a part of her collection \u201cDeep Forest\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The panel is quite big 60cm x 110cm, so the quilt came out big as well. Below you can see how the panel looks like.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/sylaquiltartist.pl\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/las1.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/sylaquiltartist.pl\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/las1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1625\" style=\"object-fit:contain;width:250px;height:500px\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When I saw it, I knew right away that the colors of that panel will be a perfect match to my room.<\/em> <em>I ended up buying seven panels, six for OBW, and one more for the center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Next, I put six of the panels one over the other and pinned them well. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/sylaquiltartist.pl\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/las2.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/sylaquiltartist.pl\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/las2.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1626\" style=\"object-fit:contain;width:500px;height:350px\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&nbsp; I once wrote about this before, but now I can show you this method with the help of pictures.<\/em> <em>When the panels were pinned, I measured them and divided them into equal parts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I always divide my panels not in centimeters but in inches. I find it much easier to divide them, cut them,<\/em> <em>and then sew them together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">By the way I do not use metric rulers that often, I prefer the imperial system. I will not lie, making the<\/em> <em>switch was difficult at first.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When I was cutting my panels, I had to be careful not to run through the pins that were I used to join the<\/em> <em>panels. And here I could use my newest rotary knife in this fabulous color, which I got from Mr.Jacek<\/em> <em>Wrobel, the Olfa representative in Poland.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/sylaquiltartist.pl\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/las3.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/sylaquiltartist.pl\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/las3.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1627\" style=\"object-fit:contain;width:500px;height:380px\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The color of the knife matches my room too.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/sylaquiltartist.pl\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/las4.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/sylaquiltartist.pl\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/las4.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1628\" style=\"object-fit:contain;width:500px;height:380px\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&nbsp;After all the strips were cut out, they needed to be cut again but this time into 60\u00b0 triangles.<\/em> <em>In order to do that you do not need any special ruler; this regular imperial ruler has 60\u00b0 marked on it.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/sylaquiltartist.pl\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/las5.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/sylaquiltartist.pl\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/las5.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1629\" style=\"object-fit:contain;width:380px;height:500px\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The stack of triangles started to get rather large and this meant two things, one, that there will be a lot<\/em> <em>of hexagons, and two, that there will be a lot of sewing.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/sylaquiltartist.pl\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/las6.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/sylaquiltartist.pl\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/las6.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1630\" style=\"object-fit:contain;width:500px;height:375px\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I first connected half of hexagons, whose\nseams I pressed with my rolling tool in the right<\/em><em>direction.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/sylaquiltartist.pl\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/las7.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/sylaquiltartist.pl\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/las7.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1631\" style=\"object-fit:contain;width:500px;height:320px\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Next, I pinned the half-hexagons together. I needed to be incredibly careful to make all the pieces fit perfectly, in order to do that I pinned them I the center together with needles.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/sylaquiltartist.pl\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/las8.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/sylaquiltartist.pl\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/las8.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1635\" style=\"object-fit:contain;width:500px;height:320px\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The pin in the center is necessary to make sure the two pieces of fabric are exactly in the center.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/sylaquiltartist.pl\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/las9.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/sylaquiltartist.pl\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/las9.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1636\" style=\"object-fit:contain;width:500px;height:375px\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Next, I put two pins on the sides to keep the two pieces of fabric securely together.<\/em> <em>The center pin was then removed because it will interfere with the sewing.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/sylaquiltartist.pl\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/las11.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/sylaquiltartist.pl\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/las11.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1640\" style=\"object-fit:contain;width:500px;height:450px\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/sylaquiltartist.pl\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/las14.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/sylaquiltartist.pl\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/las14.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1643\" style=\"object-fit:contain;width:375px;height:500px\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It came out cool.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/sylaquiltartist.pl\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/las17.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/sylaquiltartist.pl\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/las17.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1646\" style=\"object-fit:contain;width:500px;height:375px\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After sewing the seams had to get pressed. This time second inspector showed up <\/em>\ud83d\ude0a <em>I must admit, I was surprised by this visit because lately they rarely come by when I am working.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/sylaquiltartist.pl\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/las13.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/sylaquiltartist.pl\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/las13.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1642\" style=\"object-fit:contain;width:375px;height:500px\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When all hexagons were ready the fun part began which is the assembly.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/sylaquiltartist.pl\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/las15.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/sylaquiltartist.pl\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/las15.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1644\" style=\"object-fit:contain;width:375px;height:500px\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&nbsp;I changed my conception three times in how they should be arranged around the main panel.<\/em> <em>It was a good thing that they were all sewn together, otherwise I would have to keep playing with the<\/em> <em>arrangement using only the half-hexagons. This would have taken much longer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When everything was ready, I started to join hexagons into one peace.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/sylaquiltartist.pl\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/las16.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/sylaquiltartist.pl\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/las16.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1645\" style=\"object-fit:contain;width:500px;height:375px\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I admit this is my least favorite step because it never works out perfectly.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/sylaquiltartist.pl\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/las12.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/sylaquiltartist.pl\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/las12.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1641\" style=\"object-fit:contain;width:500px;height:375px\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The back after sewing looks nice also.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/sylaquiltartist.pl\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/las18.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/sylaquiltartist.pl\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/las18.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1647\" style=\"object-fit:contain;width:500px;height:375px\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When the whole peace was ready, I sewed it by hand to the main panel and then pulled out my Bernina<\/em> <em>long-arm machine for the quilting.<\/em> <em>To make my work easier I got a brilliant idea. I cut the quilting design from freezer paper.<\/em> <em>Next, I glued them on my top, which was already stretched on the long-arm. I quilted following the<\/em> <em>template I made.
