Now it\u2019s time to work with the top fabric. I used some scraps that I kept in my \u2018save-it-for-later\u2019 box. I<\/p>\n\n\n\n
used some double-sided fusible web on it and then cut it into 1\u201d <\/strong>strips, and then 1\u201d<\/strong> squares.<\/p>\n\n\n I started arranging 1\u201d squares according to the template I drew up earlier. As you can see the distance between little squares is \u00bc\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n Ironing through baking paper.<\/p>\n\n\n I made a sandwich and went to work. For the quilting, I chose multi-colored threads in white and blue<\/p>\n\n\n\n tones.<\/p>\n\n\n I quilted the top with waving lines using walking foot, on one way.<\/p>\n\n\n Quilting waving lines in the other direction.<\/p>\n\n\n This is how the back looks like, and you can also see the thread I used in the bobbin.<\/p>\n\n\n This is the butterfly that has been waiting for its time to shine for over 3 years now. I stuck my mother\u2019s<\/p>\n\n\n\n colorful scarf under its wings. I glued it to some double-sided interlining and cut along the edges.<\/p>\n\n\n Nothing can be wasted, so I put back the rest of the web back on the paper.<\/p>\n\n\n I saved the leftovers of the web by rolling it on to an empty paper towel roll.<\/p>\n\n\n<\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n<\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n<\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n
