<\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\nNow it is clean and organized. Not for long, of course. But for now, I can share with you my delight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
To enter my studio, you first need to cross two doors, just like in a vault. One set of doors is there to<\/em> protect my privacy and the other set is there to protect the members of this household and their<\/em> property from omnivorous rabbits.<\/p>\n\n\n As we enter, we almost trip over a colorful cabinet made by my husband.<\/p>\n\n\n I purchased the large containers in Castorama, they are useful for hiding incoming packages from my<\/em> family, (but do not tell anyone about it because once they find out my internet shopping sprees will<\/em> come to an end.)<\/p>\n\n\n Next, turning to the right we have my trusty, industrial Zoya sewing machine. It sews a straight stich<\/em> only. It has never given me any problems. The stich is always perfect, on both sides of the fabric. Nearby<\/em> there is a small trolley \u2013 which can be moved around the workshop.<\/p>\n\n\n The entire wall is covered with a construction made of wood, on which I placed modular shelves from<\/em> IKEA.<\/p>\n\n\n I keep fabric scraps in the white boxes.<\/p>\n\n\n Lighting is installed right under the shelves.<\/p>\n\n\n Below the shelves I have pegboard wall organizer panels (IKEA again), on which I have hung up various<\/em> tools needed for work.<\/p>\n\n\n Under one of the countertops is my favorite dresser. I keep threads and rulers for quilting in it.<\/p>\n\n\n Then there is a table with a portable ironing board that I made myself. Thanks to the portable board<\/em> (sounds cool – portable) I can place my Bernina embroidery machine on the counter.<\/p>\n\n\n I hung another pegboard for organizing some tools, right above the table, I keep things there for hand<\/em> sewing.<\/p>\n\n\n That table has a secret opening, which is usually covered with plexiglass and a cutting mat. The secret<\/em> opening is made under my little Juki sewing machine (it was my prize for first place in the contest<\/em> \u201cWhite & Red,\u201d a competition hosted by the Polish Patchwork Association). When I put the sewing<\/em> machine inside and take off the board, I have a large sewing table.<\/p>\n\n\n\n And that\u2019s cool.<\/p>\n\n\n Of course, right under the table there are sliding drawers for my various \u201csave-it-for-later\u201d stuff.<\/p>\n\n\n Further on, you will notice a \u201csmall\u201d piece of furniture that takes up half the room. This is my Long<\/em> Arm Bernina Q24 called Benia.<\/p>\n\n\n No space can be wasted, so right behind the Long Arm I have a small storage space for my cotton<\/em> batting, and right under the frame, there are four dressers on wheels.<\/p>\n\n\n Moving left, you can notice a door that, when open, hides my fabrics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n There is felt stuck to the door to which I pin my work in progress.<\/em> Unfortunately, felt does not have such properties as flannel, fleece, or cotton filling<\/em> and the fabric does not stick to it. Pins are needed. But besides that, it looks cool.<\/p>\n\n\n Next to the wardrobe, there is a playpen where the rabbits rule. Until recently, there was a lot more<\/em> space, but since they are cageless anyways, I reduced the playpen a little bit (of course with mutual<\/em> consent.) Now I have more room when quilting on Benia.<\/p>\n\n\n Right next to it is my favorite armchair that my family members fight over. Unfortunately, the rabbits<\/em> and cats usually win that fight. I sit on it (if I even get the chance) to hand sew or crochet while watching<\/em> TV. Right above the chair, I have an additional light.<\/p>\n\n\n We pass the fireplace and stop at the bookshelf that serves as my treasury of<\/em> knowledge. I have many books about sewing and quilting there.<\/p>\n\n\n Additionally, I keep old Burda vintages hidden in the closed part. I had to install the door because the<\/em> rabbits wanted to \u201cread\u201d the articles, (read = eat).<\/p>\n\n\n\n The room has a large, illuminated table that can be lit up in sections, depending on how much light I<\/em> might need. My husband made it for me. This is my main worktable.<\/p>\n\n\n Under the top there is a small storage space for any fabrics that I am going to hand dye.<\/p>\n\n\n An additional tabletop is attached to the main table, which I lift when I need more space to work. The<\/em>tabletop also serves as an additional bedroom wall for the rabbits<\/p>\n\n\n I still have to tell you about the lighting in the room. Besides the regular lighting<\/em> that I made myself (technical matters I left for my husband), I also have additional lighting.<\/p>\n\n\n Four additional ceiling lighting panels are mounted above the worktable,<\/em> five over the Long Arm, one over the computer table and one over the ironing board.<\/p>\n\n\n In addition, my husband gave me a special lamp that reflects real daylight.
