On October 8 th , there was a meeting of the \u201cPatchwork Mazowiecki\u201d group. You might be wondering<\/em> why I\u2019m even writing about it, so I\u2019ll explain right away. My friend Sylwia and I recently became new<\/em> members of this group, and this was our first meeting and our first opportunity to meet the other<\/em> members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 We were both were incredibly lucky because we came across a course run by the famous<\/em> Katarzyna Ple\u015bniak. Kasia creates amazing works that we like very much.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She has her own unique style that I envy very much. I love looking at all of these torn scraps of fabric in<\/em> her works. I don\u2019t even get shivers anymore and I don\u2019t have my reflex reaction to hide all these threads<\/em> anymore.<\/p>\n\n\n

Of course, a week before in the group \u201cPatchwork Mazowiecki,\u201d we were informed of all of the things<\/em> we would need to bring to class.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The topic: Full Moon, size A3 (aprox. 30×40 cm ) or A4 (aprox. 20x30cm)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Materials needed:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

–  pieces of linen in various sizes in the following colors: dark gray, graphite, dark navy blue<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– pieces of linen in various sizes in the following colors: lilac, light gray (hand dyed pieces of non-uniform<\/p>\n\n\n\n

colors will look very nice but are not necessary.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-pins and needles for hand sewing<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– thread for basting<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-scissors<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-filling (any kind)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– the back (preferably linen)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I managed to find various pieces of white linen that I dyed. I have to confess, the effect of my<\/em> experiments surprised me.<\/p>\n\n\n

Kasia showed us her projects on which she was working and shared her techniques with us.<\/em>  I learned that for shredding and wiping fabrics, he uses, for example, a foot grater or<\/em> graters for vegetables as well as pumice and sandpaper. Awesome.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There was no end to the fraying, cutting, and arranging. I discovered that it was very fun, and it was also<\/em> very relaxing.<\/p>\n\n\n

We had a great time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The last stage of the process was basting it. I broke off a bit and I fastened everything with pins to be able to change the concept at the final stage if necessary.<\/p>\n\n\n

 It turned out amazing. With the last few touches, decorative basting and cutting unnecessary fabric, and<\/em> the project is ready.<\/p>\n\n\n
