This is the penultimate challenge this year in which I will participate, this time around it\u2019s called \u201crhythm and repetition.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00a0In traditional patchwork repetition it is very clearly visible, repeating blocks or quilting designs. But I do not like traditional blocks. I decided to take up this challenge and use the mandala. This time Rugame shared the project with me. It perfectly fits this challenge.<\/p>\n\n\n

First, I chose the fabric, hand-dyed, as always, by me. I love such intense colors.<\/p>\n\n\n

I printed out the mandala, slid it under the fabric, and then traced it.<\/p>\n\n\n

I used my awesome illuminated table that my husband made for me a long time ago.<\/p>\n\n\n

I used a special white pencil from the company Prym but, honestly, a white crayon will work just fine.<\/p>\n\n\n

I stretched the finished mandala on my long arm and started to quilt.<\/p>\n\n\n

 I had a moment of slight hesitation when it came to deciding what color of thread to use for this project, light shades or maybe dark?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eventually I went with the darker shades. Now I know that I made a good choice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It turned out amazing even though it wasn\u2019t perfect. It was very hard to hide imperfections with such a contrasting thread.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00a0The repetition has been maintained. But it doesn\u2019t stop there. After quilting, I cut out the center of my mandala.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Next, I trimmed mandala to 50x 50 cm in size.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 In the middle I fastened with pins a previously prepared, double folded strap.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When everything was ready I turned my mandala upside down I pinned to black fabric ( this will be  the back).<\/p>\n\n\n

I trimmed it and sewed it around, then rolled it through the mandala hole. In this way I got the pillow with a hole.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 Now, I stuffed this lovely pillow with some hay.<\/p>\n\n\n
