I actually succeeded. Lena found one of my quilts and sent me a photo. I was so relieved, and I knew that if one of my quilts is there, then the other one must be hanging somewhere as well.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/sylaquiltartist.pl\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/birmingham.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/sylaquiltartist.pl\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/birmingham.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5253\" style=\"object-fit:contain;width:375px;height:444px\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Unfortunately, she had a hard time to find the other one. You know why?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Because the other quilt won first place in the \u201cArt Quilts\u201d category and was hanging in a different room (for the winners), it was covered up. They only unveiled it after the results were announced.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/sylaquiltartist.pl\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/birmingham11.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/sylaquiltartist.pl\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/birmingham11.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5271\" style=\"object-fit:contain;width:375px;height:470px\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The judges said &#8222;The very very successful combination of individually quilted kaleidoscope hexagons and beautifully embellished central panel has resulted in a stunning harmonious piece.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/sylaquiltartist.pl\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/birmingham2.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/sylaquiltartist.pl\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/birmingham2.jpg\" alt=\"\" style=\"object-fit:contain;width:500px;height:375px\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I am so happy. I still can&#8217;t believe in it. It feels like it\u2019s just a beautiful dream.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Additionally, my third quilt, \u201cBefore Dawn,\u201d hangs in the EQA gallery and represents the Polish Patchwork Association.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/sylaquiltartist.pl\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/birmingham3.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/sylaquiltartist.pl\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/birmingham3.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5256\" style=\"object-fit:contain;width:500px;height:377px\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But that\u2019s not all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I also was chosen as a semifinalist at the International Quilt Show in the USA.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/sylaquiltartist.pl\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/aqs.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/sylaquiltartist.pl\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/aqs.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5265\" style=\"object-fit:contain;width:500px;height:500px\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As I wrote to you recently, I have been desperate to see my unlucky quilts displayed at the show in Birmingham.
