I do not reallly like writing about my personal life, but if it has an influence on my work and writing blog, I think have no choice. On October 9th<\/sup> I had foot surgery that forced me to lie on the couch with my leg up for over three weeks. I couldn’t continue working on my art quilts that I love very much.<\/p>\n\n\n

Fortunately, I did not allow myself to be discourage and decided to use that time to develop other skills. As part of the course at the ULRA Folk Artistic Crafts University in Wola S\u0119kowa, I learned about two embroidery techniques: richelieu embroidery and cross-stitch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Richelieu embroidery is a unique embroidery technique that comes from France and owes its name to Cardinal Richelieu. It involves cutting out motifs from fabric and sewing them with thread, creating eye-catching and elegant patterns. I must admit that this is not an easy technique and requires a lot of patience and precision. It’s not my favorite way of embroidering either.<\/p>\n\n\n

Cross-stitch, also known as Carpathian, is a technique popular mainly in the Carpathians. It involves creating crosses using two threads that overlap. It is important to keep the direction of the top thread uniform to get a nice effect. I really like this embroidery because it is simple and offers many color and composition possibilities.<\/p>\n\n\n

In addition to embroidery, I started to make a crochet scarf.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The scarf is made with an extremely simple pattern consisting only of single crochets and chain stitches. It is known as Moss. You don’t have to look at the diagram, just remember a few simple rules. I love this pattern because it is very relaxing and therapeutic. The only drawback is that it takes a long time to make, and you need a lot of patience, but it doesn’t bother me because I have plenty of time now.<\/p>\n\n\n

I hope that I will be back to full fitness soon and I will be able to show my new projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
