The LOGO of the Malopolska Patchwork

The LOGO of the Malopolska Patchwork

I was not here for a long time. I seemed that during summer vacation time we have more time and can do more but not always. Time flows between your fingers like a water and it is hard to capture it.

I should write about a big project which was done by us (I mean Patchwork Malopolska members) during September meeting in Fablab Malopolska in Krakow. It was the LOGO of our group.

The LOGO will be exposed at the exposition at Miedzynaodowych Targach Textylnych FAST TEXTILE 2019 in Poznan

Quoting Ewa Pasinska, who is  our guru and the boss lady: “Our LOGO has to contain two mandalas, ¼ of each”.

Selection was not easy, so knowledgeable quilters people gathered to make that tough decision.

The choice was not easy.

After choosing mandala there was a time to prepare the fabrics.

Searching for the right fabrics.
Ewa prepared the fabric.

Then the selected mandala pattern was cut out of the fabric with a laser. Thanks a lot for Peter for the perfect laser settings.

Many were interested.

Inspection

What a great machine, there are many ideas born in my head, seeing at what the machine is capable of.

After cutting the mandala was arranged on previously prepared background fabric. It was not simple because there were so many tiny pieces, but we managed.

Searching for the right piece.

Then our boss lady selected the color of the inscription.

New way of selecting fabric.

After assembling everything into one piece and ironing.

The quilt was supposed to be quilted and that was ma task, as a Bernina long arm owner. The quilting seemed to be quick and easy. Ha, nothing more deceptive.

Sticking mandala pieces successfully accomplished.
