During the vernissage of works created according to the graphics “Earth Lines” by Rebecca Vincent, FabLab Malopolska organized a free workshop Dream Catcher using macramé technique. Of course, I had to sign up. I always wanted to make a dream catcher but did not have creative veneer. Now that has changed.
The workshop was great. I am already able to tie a few macramé knots. The cool thing was that we did it on pre-prepared wheels cut out if a thin plywood.
The most common wheel of the dream catcher is made of wire, but this one was also genuinely nice too.
First it was necessary to cut 20 equal lengths of strings. Which then were pushed and tied through the holes made in wooden circle.
Then these strings were fused together to create a micrometrical pattern, I am not an expert from macramé, so please forgive if me I make some mistakes describing the whole process.
As you can see in the photo the pattern is forming.
Of course, there was so much laughter during that, so it was hard to focus and finish the dream catcher.
Unfortunatally, I failed, had to go back to the vernissage.
So, I took it home and there I decided that I would add some colors.
I added beads and feathers too and made macramé leaves.
During my work I also had a helper, who at that point got hungry and wanted to eat beads and feathers.
As soon as I forbade it got upset.
After graduating from the catcher, the helper came to thank me. A small apple and kisses did the trick.
There will always be one that has done nothing but thinks it deserves appreciation.
The dream catcher is finished so there is time for the final photo.
I can not decide what photo to display, so I show those that I like the most, each in different scenery.
All the pictures are taken in my yard which I love. If you take a good look, you will see Latka’s trademark left on the dream catcher.
