Colorful Threads

How many times have you swapped your thread for a different color while working on a quilt? I am sure you probably have never thought about it, neither did I, until now. Over the past few days, I had the opportunity to quilt a beautiful piece, made by my friend Sylwia. I had to constantly replace bobbins with a different color, maybe 15 or 16 times for each task. Hard to say exactly how many times. Not to mention all the extra bobbins with the same color.

I don’t want you to think I am complaining, I had so much fun. The best was when I dropped a bobbin on the floor, and it rolled out across half of my studio, and was further unrolled by my rabbits. Of course, as soon as they realized that something was sticking to their feet, there was no end to their mad jumping. My only regret is that I did not manage to capture it on film or even in any photos.

I had so much excitement when working, but the final effect is amazing. You can see for yourself.

Here you can see the back of the piece. I will not show the front just yet. I want to let the owner of the piece get some praise for herself after she has finished it up. As soon as she does, I will post a link and you will be able to admire her works.

I am still addicted to felt. A new image is on its way and will be made with wool felt.
