I don’t even remember anymore when the last time I worked on a project without having to take a brake. I don’t know if it’s been happening like this all year or if I’m starting to change my work style. Until now, before starting a new project, I always finished the old one. Why? Because I am afraid of unfinished projects that will be in my closet. It’s very depressing seeing unfinished projects. And I can’t handle negative emotions well.
For the past few days, I have been working on the “Photo Exchange” organized by EQA, you can read about it here. I am almost done with it. One quilt is finished and the other one is on the Bernina frame. I am not allowed to show you either one yet because, for now, it is meant to be a secret.
Now I have no creative inspiration when it comes to quilting the second piece, so I went back to working on Illusion II.
Now it is time to continue.
The time now has come for the frame, and this is where the problems started. Unfortunately, not all fabrics were wide enough to cover the entire pattern in particular color. I had to connect them, which I don’t like doing very much. Additionally, I had to remember about the correct order of the “circles” to be cut in order to use the fabric in the most efficient way. One mistake and I would have to buy a whole new piece of fabric.
I experienced the same difficulties with double sided fusible web. I wish they would make them in sizes bigger than 90 cm. Because of this the number of pieces I had to put together was quite large.
The frame is almost ready.

Of course, after everything was quilted, it had to undergo thorough organoleptic inspection. So, there was looking, touching, and even licking.
Unfortunately, only Łatka did the work because Pimpuś was temporarily indisposed. He fought the ear-thief and temporarily lost that fight.
Getting back on topic, the whole quilt looks like this. I think I will have to quilt it manually because I do not like the wrinkles that appeared. But there is an illusion effect for sure, so I achieved what I wanted. Now it’s time to polish it up, but it will take some time, so I will show off the final effects at a later time.
