Hi it is Sylwia 2 again. The host of this blog hasn’t been feeling very well, so it is my turn to make your time.
So, there is an expression many of you might know, that goes like this: “everyone has their own Mount Everest”. Sewing portraits has been my “Everest.” I believe that this is the highest level of sewing, showcasing the quilting skills of the artist. Especially when it comes to working on portraits of relatives, when maintaining a resemblance is key to the entire creative process.
So, while working on my “Painting by Numbers” series, I found out that you can paint portraits. Naturally, I wanted to sew it. The entire process of dealing with a contractor required lot of patience but it worked. I was given templates so I could finally start. I did not document this entire process by taking pictures because I felt that I wasn’t qualified to advise others to begin with. It was my first time doing this and I do not think that I will be doing it again because the whole process was very challenging for me.
I must point out that anyone who chooses to take up a challenge as big as climbing their own “Everest” should do so with the help of an experienced sherpa. My sherpa happened to be Sylwia Ignatowska. While helping me, she took a heavy burden on her shoulders, and as a result she had to wear her arm in a sling for a few weeks.

My expedition was a success, and although my poor sherpa suffered a little bit of damage, I came back from this climb satisfied. Thanks’ !
