Starring- silicone non-stick baking mat and some baking paper
Playing the part of supporting roles – fabrics, assorted scraps, scissors, double sided fusible web, freezer paper, batting, back fabric, and colorful threads.
Ladies and gentlemen, let me introduce you to the main celebrities: a silicone nonstick mat and baking paper. Two game changers.
I learned about the nonstick silicone mat from the sixth issue of the magazine “Szyjemy Patchworki,” published by SPP. Let me demonstrate its potential.
We lay down the fabric on double sided fusible web.
Drum roll please …
The fabric is glued on, with no residue, and the rest of the glue remained where it belongs, on the paper instead of the ironing board.
Now it is time to introduce the baking paper.
I made a collage sheet by using small scraps of fabric glued on a double-sided interlining, then I added the scraps and put them on the baking paper and ironed them.
Cut around edges and my collage leaves are done.
If I don’t have any freezer paper, I use baking paper instead. With the help of a black marker, copy the item onto the baking sheet. The advantage of this is that the contours are visible on both sides.
I arrange the scraps.
I cut it along the edges, and it is done.
I made all of the elements of this quilt using this method.
