As I wrote to you recently, I have been desperate to see my unlucky quilts displayed at the show in Birmingham. I actually succeeded. Lena found one of my quilts and sent me a photo. I was so relieved, and I knew that if one of my quilts is there, then the other one must be hanging somewhere as well.
Unfortunately, she had a hard time to find the other one. You know why?
Because the other quilt won first place in the “Art Quilts” category and was hanging in a different room (for the winners), it was covered up. They only unveiled it after the results were announced.
The judges said “The very very successful combination of individually quilted kaleidoscope hexagons and beautifully embellished central panel has resulted in a stunning harmonious piece.”
I am so happy. I still can’t believe in it. It feels like it’s just a beautiful dream.
Additionally, my third quilt, “Before Dawn,” hangs in the EQA gallery and represents the Polish Patchwork Association.
But that’s not all.
I also was chosen as a semifinalist at the International Quilt Show in the USA.
