Last weekend I had the opportunity to attend a meeting at the ULRA Folk University of Art and Crafts in Wola Sękowa.
It was quite a challenge for me because I currently have an injured leg and rely on crutches to walk. But I didn’t let myself be discouraged and went to school to develop my passions. I took my crutches under my arms, put on the magic boot, and went to school.
There was numerous workshops related to artistic crafts were held at the congress. Each class was interesting and informative. I learned many new techniques and created some beautiful projects.
While embroidering, I finished my Carpathian pattern, which I now plan to sew onto the bag onto the weaving frame.
I was given some homework also; I must make a bookmark. I’ll get around to it sometime this week.
I also made a bowl using ceramic, that I named “Dancing Maidens”.
In the drawing class, I tried to create still life on the easel, which was not easy in my situation.
I used wicker to weave the bottom of a basket. I still have a little bit left, but I’m already making progress.
This is my last project.
But this is not the end yet.
In this class I learned the basics from Joanna Rey, who conducted the workshop.
I am very satisfied with what I managed to do and what I learned. I’m glad I could be part of this wonderful community of creative people and craft enthusiasts. I can’t wait for the next meeting.
