Last weekend I participated in a meeting at the Folk University of Artistic Crafts. This is a unique institution located in Wola Sękowa.
This time I had the opportunity to participate in a bead jewelry workshop led by Ewelina Matusiak-Wyderka.
Ewalina, also known as “Thumbelina”, is an instructor of Carpathian beaded jewelry, weaving, and macramé. Thanks to her, I learned the basics of weaving.
With Anna Sawicka, I learned embroidery and lace. I finally finished the first stage of my Romanian lace.
Monika Wolanska took me into the world of ceramics. Here is my first finished project.
I also made a beautiful fish “in my spare time”, which was an egg at first, then turned into a bird (see if you can spot it) and ended up as a fish. That project evolved during the process.
Katarzyna Onacko taught us wickerwork. This time a circular bottom began to form a basket.
Marianna Jara taught us Carpatian embroidery and singing classes. Here is a piece I completed under her watchful eye.
The other projects are still in progress, so I will show them at another time. ULRA is a big supporter of creativity and craftsmanship, bringing people together through a shared passion for art and tradition.
