In 2024, during a patchwork camp, 35 talented quilters from the Polish Patchwork Association joined forces to create something special for the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity (WOŚP). Each of them sewed a unique block, which became part of a larger whole – a beautiful quilt that not only impresses with its appearance but also carries a message.
The blocks for the quilt were created in an atmosphere of creative collaboration and mutual support. The patchwork camp was a place where the passion for sewing met the desire to help. Each individual block was connected with others to form a harmonious composition full of colors and patterns.
After the summer camp ended, the girls from Patchwork Małopolski took on the task of sewing all the blocks into one cohesive quilt. Their precision and dedication made the final result truly impressive.
I got the honor of quilting the bedcover on Bernina Q24 long-arm, giving it its final shape and unique character. I won’t lie, it was a challenge. The quilt had to be quilted lightly but nicely so that it wouldn’t be stiff. My husband pointed out an important detail in the quilt, which immediately gave me an idea of how to quilt it. Thank you, darling.
This collective work is proof of how much can be achieved through cooperation and passion. The quilt for WOŚP is not only a beautiful object but also a symbol of solidarity and support for those in need. I am proud to have participated in this project, and we hope that our quilt will bring much joy and support to those who need it.
