Not every handmade project begins with love at first sight. My journey with Richelieu embroidery started with reluctance, but fate had other plans. When I began studying at the Folk University in Wola Sękowa, my perspective on this technique changed dramatically. Initially demanding and unapproachable, this embroidery style started to fascinate me with its elegance and precision.
It was then that the idea for unique pants was born—hand-sewn from white linen and embellished with Richelieu embroidery. I found the pattern in Hafty Polskie magazine, but, true to myself, I modified it to fit my needs. Using satin stitch, I worked thread by thread to give the pants character and a story, one that I now wear with pride.
For me, this project is not just the result of my craftsmanship, but a testament to how our relationship with handcraft evolves—sometimes, all it takes is a bit of patience for something unfamiliar to become a passion.
