Czech Republic- Fulnek 2025

Czech Republic- Fulnek 2025

Today’s blog post comes from my talented friend Sylwia Haluch, who shares her impressions from a recent patchwork exhibition in the Czech Republic. Unfortunately, I’m currently buried in the chaos of home renovations – dust, paint, and endless decisions – but Sylwia will take you on a colorful journey full of inspiring fabrics and artistic emotions.

On June 20-21st , 2025, an exhibition organized by the Privni Morawsky Patchwork Club took place. The Polish Patchwork Association was invited to participate in the exhibition and 25 projects from Poland were submitted, including patchworks by Agata Smolinska, Lenka Galinska, Ania Karcz, Maryla Radlinska, Marta Pytel, Hania Siebierwska and mine. They ask for  large projects of at least 150 x 150 cm and our ladies have closets full of beautiful patchworks.

At first glance, a town like many others. Quiet, it might seem a bit sleepy. However, Český Fulnek can surprise you. The town, located in the Nový Jičín district, has only over six thousand inhabitants. Part of the town is in Czech Silesia, part in Moravia. The town is eagerly visited by Polish tourists and patchwork lovers.

Because it is my first visit to Fulnek, I am so proud. Even though my Gypsy Wife was hung upside down, it didn’t spoil my mood at all.

But “Gyspy Wife” made by Hanna Siebierwska hung up in right way, provided a great contrast.
